   On a trip to visit her best friend in Denver, Melanie meets someone she cannot forget even after returning home to Saint Pierce. While Lucas has tried to reach out, Melanie maintains her distance until a chance encounter changes everything.

   Lucas is placed on an assignment in Saint Pierce and has a surprise reunion with the woman he cannot get out of his mind. 

   Melanie and Lucas are great together. Logan has written them in such a way that they share some of the same fears and their reluctance to express those fears. Lucas with his protective ways is the perfect match for her independent yet worryful temperament.
