Wild War explains so much of the backstories of Cade and Jolie. Laurelin Paige knows how to challenge her readers. After the ending of Wild Rebel, one could have never guessed the twists and turns as the story processes.
I was truly engaged in the back stories of both Cade and Jolie. It helped answer questions from Wild Rebel while giving then so much more depth. She broke his heart all those years ago, but then wants his help? They never forgot their past. And that’s part of their story that has shaped them in so many ways.
As the story progresses, the twists and turns help create plot twists that only Laurelin Paige can put into words. She is a master of surpassing her readers and challenging them at every turn. Wild War plays perfectly into this as the plot thickens. Be forewarned, since this is the second book in the trilogy, it ends with a huge cliffhanger.
I couldn’t put this book down. It kept me captivated from the very first page. So many emotions and heartbreaking, Wild War is told through a series of flashbacks mixed with the present day. I have so much to say but I don’t want to say anything that can be considered a spoiler to some. So All I can say is that this book was well worth the wait. I cannot wait to see how this story concludes with the release of Wild Heart. I reviewed an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
