Played is centered around a business owner being duped (played) into thinking he was the father of his ex girlfriend’s son. I will admit that I’ve never read a false paternity book until Played.
Kelli, a model, wants revenged for being dumped by her ex boyfriend, Joel. Joel is the founder of Farrell Software Development. Sarah is a homeless single mother who will do whatever it takes to take of her son Ethan.
Kelli thinks she’s all that and a bag of chips. Her self righteousness makes her easy to dislike. Even though she is the one who cheated, she feels entitled to a second chance. Or so it seems that what she wants.
Joel was reluctant to give Kelli a second chance but did so for the sake of his son which he only learned about when he was three months old. He wanted to see the good in her but struggled with it. Joel has a heart of gold .
Sarah was desperate enough to do whatever it took to take care of her son, EthanShe too has a heart of gold but people do desperate things in times of need. I can’t fault her for doing what she did because it was for her love for Ethan.
I truly enjoyed Played. This was the first book I’ve read by Tasha Fawkes, and won’t be the last.
